The meeting between the FEE management and the professional bodies in Romania, CAFR and CECCAR

On the 21 of June 2010, a working meeting took place in Bucharest, between a delegation of the European Federation of Accountants (FEE), composed of Hans van Damme- president, Henri Olivier- secretary general and Klaus-Günter Klein- vice-president and management representatives of the two professional bodies in our country, the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania and the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania.

The discussions referred to the development and strengthening of the cooperation between the Romanian organizations and the representative institution at European level, in view of supporting the global accounting and auditing profession, both in our country, as well as internationally.

The signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between the
Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania and the
Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan Republic

At 5 May 2009, on the occasion of the visit of a delegation of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania in Baku, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan Republic has been signed.

The provisions of the Memorandum include the cooperation between the two organizations in fields such as: ethics, education, continuous professional development, quality control, the primary objective being the promotion and development of the accountancy and audit profession in the economic environments of Romania and Azerbaijan.

On the occasion of signing this Memorandum, the president of the Chamber of Auditors of Azerbaijan Republic, Vahid Novruzov, expressed his hope that the general collaboration principles comprised in the document will be implemented by the specific departments of the two institutes and that this Memorandum will represent only the beginning of the cooperation between the two professional bodies. After the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding, the president of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania, prof.univ.PhD. Ion Mihăilescu, expressed his confidence that both organizations, who were granted in the same time the quality of full members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in Rome, in November 2008, will make their best in respecting the international standards and the IFAC Code of Ethics, in view of developing their members’ activity, providing high quality professional services and protecting the public interest.

At the end of the ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Understanding, a press conference was held, during which the presidents of the two organizations answered the questions addressed by the Azerbaijan journalists.

Certification of the full member quality granted to the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania by IFAC

The International Federation of Accountants sent to the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania the diploma certifying the quality of full member of IFAC granted to the Romanian professional body. This quality acknowledges the high level activities and services provided by the CAFR, as well as its alignment to the IFAC provisions and standards in the field of the accountancy and auditing profession.
