AICPA & CIMA and CAFR collaborate for the benefit of the financial audit professionals in Romania

June 2023, Bucharest – AICPA® & CIMA®, together as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, and the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (Camera Auditorilor Financiari din Romania, CAFR), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive the development of the financial audit profession in Romania. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to promoting the role of the financial auditing profession, enhance public trust, and boosting career growth for auditing professionals in Romania.

Through the agreement, CAFR members will be able to grow their knowledge and expertise by accessing the wide array of AICPA & CIMA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) resources and subscribing to its CGMA Finance Leadership Program. In the coming months, the two organisations will also explore other learning opportunities and work more closely to deliver events and webinars, grow knowledge sharing for auditing and accounting professionals, and fostering international cooperation.

Adrian Popescu, President of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania, said: “The Chamber’s mission is to build the public recognition and trust of the financial audit profession in Romania. By working with AICPA & CIMA, we can offer our members access to the resources and experience of the worlds’ largest professional bodies for public and management accounting. It will help us in our efforts to support businesses, improve the adoption of international standards, and ensure the Romanian financial audit profession serves the public interest.
